Miami's New Food Truck Destination Is in West Miami — Inside Casa Cultura's Backlot
· Casa Cultura · West Miami, FL 33155
West Miami didn't need another strip mall. It didn't need another chain restaurant. What it needed — and what it now has — is a proper outdoor food and culture destination where the food trucks are actually good, the energy is Miami-native, and the setting makes you want to stay longer than you planned.
Welcome to the Backlot at Casa Cultura, 1811 Ludlam Rd, Miami, FL 33155. This is the food truck destination West Miami didn't know it was waiting for — and in summer 2026, it's operating on two distinct levels: a morning shift that starts at 7 AM with LuchaDough's handcrafted donuts and specialty coffee, and an evening shift anchored by The Chopping Block — one of Miami's most-talked-about food trucks — running dinner Wednesday through Sunday. Para la cultura.
What the Backlot Actually Is
The Backlot is Casa Cultura's open-air outdoor venue — an extension of the creative hub at 1811 Ludlam Rd that functions as community space, event venue, and food destination all in one. Think of it less like a food court and more like a neighborhood living room that happens to have great food trucks.
Outdoor seating. Miami sky. The right combination of foot traffic and community energy that you only get when a space has cultural credibility behind it. This isn't a parking lot with a truck parked in it. It's a curated outdoor experience that Casa Cultura has been building since the Backlot's launch — and with two resident concepts and rotating pop-ups now live, the Miami food truck park conversation now includes a West Miami address.
Morning and Evening — The Backlot Runs All Day
The Backlot's food program runs in two clear shifts. Both are strong. Neither competes with the other. Together, they cover the full day.
Morning: LuchaDough — Donuts + Specialty Coffee (Thu–Sat 7AM–12PM)
Thursday through Saturday mornings, LuchaDough holds down the Backlot from 7 AM to noon. Handcrafted donuts — scratch-made, rotating flavors, limited quantity — paired with a proper specialty coffee program. It's the breakfast West Miami has been missing, landing at exactly the right address.
LuchaDough orders out of the indoor counter with Backlot seating. Show up early. When they sell out, they're done. That's the deal, and it's worth it. Follow @luchadough for daily flavor drops.
Evening: The Chopping Block — Miami's Best Food Truck, Parked on the Backlot
When the sun starts to drop, The Chopping Block takes over. TCB is the Backlot's dinner anchor — a full-time resident food truck concept that started in Westchester in July 2024 and moved to Casa Cultura in early 2026. 4.8 stars on Uber Eats and a following that stretches across West Miami, Coral Way, and beyond.
TCB's Backlot dinner menu:
- TCB Smash Burger — the signature. Crispy edges, built right, no notes.
- Bacon Jam Smash — the elevated order. Sweet, savory, unapologetically good.
- Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich — the crossover hit that earns its own category.
- Loaded Cajun Fries — not a side. A commitment.
- Chopped Cheese — NYC classic, Miami execution. The cult item.
- Fritas — Cuban street food on the Backlot. This is Miami. Of course it's on the menu.
TCB Backlot Hours
- Wednesday – Friday: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Sunday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Order in-person at the Backlot truck window or get delivery through Uber Eats. Follow @tcbmia for specials and late-night announcements.
West Miami vs. the Rest — Why the Backlot Stands Out
Miami has food truck parks. Wynwood has walls and walks. Downtown has the Bayside area. But what's the option for the 33155 zip code — for the families, creatives, and professionals on the Coral Way / Westchester / Bird Road corridor who don't want to drive to Brickell for a good dinner or a decent cup of coffee?
Pinecrest Gardens has its charm but it's not built around food trucks. The Coral Way food scene is developing, but it's fragmented. Tropical Park — less than a mile away — has great green space but no food destination adjacent to it worth talking about. Casa Cultura's Backlot fills that gap with something intentional: not a random food court, but a curated community space with resident concepts that have actual credibility.
The difference is cultural foundation. Casa Cultura is a creative hub, an event venue, a podcast facility, and a community anchor. The Backlot food program isn't a revenue grab — it's the natural extension of everything the space already does. Food trucks that fit the energy, not just fill a slot.
Rotating Pop-Ups and Food Truck Events at Casa Cultura
LuchaDough and TCB are the anchors, but the Backlot stays open to rotating food truck concepts and pop-up activations throughout the year. Casa Cultura actively books food trucks for events — private dinners, brand activations, neighborhood nights, community gatherings — and the Backlot infrastructure makes it easy to execute.
If you're an event organizer, brand looking for an activation venue, or food truck operator wanting to access the Casa Cultura audience, this is the conversation to have. Check our events page for upcoming Backlot programming, or reach out directly to book.
Book Casa Cultura for Your Food Truck Event
